On Friday the 22nd, at Woodland, the JBHS Royals defeated the Dragons 3-1 to raise their record to 5-1-1. This propels the Royals to 5th place in the standings in Class D North.

Sophomore Adam Robinson scored two goals and Senior Josef Guptill scored the other goal. Sabre Phelps scored the only goal for Woodland. Senior goalie Austin Grant made nine saves to highlight a great defensive effort.

Unfortunately for volleyball Royalettes weren’t so lucky. They fell to the Lady Dragons in straight sets (3 to 0) which lowers their season record to 5-3. Junior Alexsis Sprowl and Senior Reanna Smith were the best servers in the loss as they both were perfect from serving (7/7 and 5/5 respectively) while Sophomore Madelyn Thistlewood and Senior J-Lynn Beal added four aces each. The Royalettes are still in 5th place in Class C North which is right in the middle of the pack.

The Royalettes have a chance to gain some serious ground in the standings as they face Narraguagus on Wednesday the 27th followed by Sumner on Thursday. Both games are at home.

The Royals’ next games are, Monday the 25th, at Highview Christian Academy and followed by a home bout against Narraguagus on Wednesday the 27th. Good luck to our boys and girls!
